Worthy Investment

In a newly “green-conscious” society, donors must feel a connection to the causes and nonprofits they are supporting. The Cleveland Carbon Fund is both a worthy investment and strategic decision.

All donations to the Cleveland Carbon Fund will be placed in an advised fund at the Cleveland Foundation until they are distributed to grantees in the Cleveland region that are committed to sustainability, the social well-being of the community and measurable economic impact. A small portion of the contributions may be used to cover administrative costs and fees.

Cleveland donors can be assured that their contributions are making sustainable, positive change happen in their own backyard. For example, the Cleveland Carbon Fund would support projects focused on energy efficiency, water conservation or home weatherization. Disclaimer: The Cleveland Carbon Fund provides technical expertise and financial support to select projects. It does not purchase or sell carbon credits and prohibits the sale of carbon reduction credits by all projects in the portfolio. The Fund uses the total carbon reductions of its projects as a key performance indicator and uses the commodity price for certified carbon dioxide equivalent reduction credits and emission allowances as a benchmark. The performance of the current project portfolio is $20 per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.
